Founded in Denmark in 1998, Rice by Rice is a homeware and accessories lifestyle brand known for colorful melamine, handmade baskets from Madagascar, and everyday functional tableware made with love. We provide detailed designs to have fun while washing, cleaning, baking and relaxing at home.

Time Travel
After living in Paris for 15 years, our Founders Charlotte and Phillippe Guéniau 24 years ago had a calling and decided to leave their everyday fast-paced jobs and live in the moment. After a lunch with Charlotte’s best friend, she decided alongside her husband to start selling a few colorful items in Copenhagen, including the iconic collection of raphia storage boxes made in Madagascar. And just like that due to the high demand they grew their stock with melamine cups, pillows and candle holders. Today you can find Rice by Rice in 45 countries and in 2014 they took the step to go beyond homeware and opened acafécalled Riceteria in Odense establishing themselves as a lifestyle brand. A year later Riceteria made its debut in Stuttgart.
The Rice Factor
What for some may be a meal for others is survival. Taking awareness of the everyday life in Madagascar, Rice by Rice created its name inspired by the significance of this - far from basic - food being awakened by its use in this magical island.
